Mika Salamanca Gives Her P1 Million PBB Prize Money to Orphanage

The PBB Big Winner undoubtedly has an even bigger heart.

Last July 5, GMA actress Mika Salamanca won the latest edition of Pinoy Big Brother with her duo partner Brent Manalo. Today, she continued to prove just why she’s beloved by the public. After gaining attention for her resurfaced singing videos online, the Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab first placer is receiving praise once more for her big heart.

Mika Salamanca Donates PBB Prize Money

Her talent agency, Sparkle GMA Artist Center, shared that she donated all P1 Million of her winnings from the reality TV show to the Duyan ni Maria Children’s Home and Orphanage, the same one she and Brent chose as their selected charity during a task inside the house.

An institution based in Mabalacat, Pampanga, Duyan ni Maria provides “safe housing, food, clothing, health care, and an education in a loving family environment for children who have been abandoned, abused, surrendered, or orphaned.” In a post-PBB interview, Mika revealed that she was actually already set on on donating her cash prize to them even before the final placements were announced.

Mika’s generosity didn’t end there either. Sparkle shared that after the donation, Mika continued her outreach “by visiting a community of elderly residents to extend her gratitude and compassion.” The post came with photos of Mika interacting and having fun with the elderly during her charity work.

Following their PBB triumph, Mika and Brent guested on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda to talk about their careers moving forward. The former mentioned her desire to pursue a music career while the latter is more interested in acting. Brent also expressed wanting to star in a romantic comedy project with Mika "to keep things light."

The pair was recently spotted on a night out with their fellow PBB housemates, Dustin Yu, Bianca De Vera, and Esnyr.
