You might’ve seen him before on “Goin’ Bulilit” and “Incognito.”

If you’ve watched Call Me Mother, chances are your attention didn’t just stay on its heavyweight leads. Somewhere between Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre’s notable scenes, a young star holds his own. Lucas Andalio may be a child actor, but in a film stacked with familiar names, he’s already a scene-stealer. Here are five things to know about the young actor audiences are starting to talk about.
Who Is Lucas Andalio? 5 Things to Know About the Child Actor
1. He holds his own alongside Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre.
Lucas plays Angel in Call Me Mother, an official entry to the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The film centers on Twinkle de Guzman, a queer single mother played by Vice Ganda, and Mara de Jesus, Angel’s biological mother portrayed by Nadine Lustre. In the middle of that emotional tug-of-war is Lucas, whose performance grounds the story, especially in scenes that demand vulnerability from someone his age.

2. His off-the-cuff acting impressed audiences on It’s Showtime.
Lucas’ acting wasn’t limited to the big screen. On It’s Showtime, he was asked to perform a crying scene on the spot. In less than a minute, he got into character, and the audience responded with cheers, showing just how naturally he slips into a role.
3. Acting tips come straight from family.
Talent clearly runs in the family! Lucas is the nephew of Kapamilya actress Loisa Andalio, who has been vocal about her pride in him. In a post she shared on X, Loisa revealed she taught Lucas a simple but effective acting trick, advising him to close his eyes during an actor’s cue to avoid distractions. “Proudddd ang tita,” she wrote, adding, “galing galing.”
4. Even Vice Ganda calls him the standout.
Praise from co-stars is common, but Vice Ganda didn’t hold back. The Unkabogable Star described Lucas as the real standout of Call Me Mother, saying, “Siya talaga ang bida sa buong pelikula… ang galing, galing niya dun.” Vice also shared that Lucas was part of a memorable Disneyland Hong Kong shoot, noting that the production was among the first Asian films allowed to shoot inside the park.

5. He’s quietly building a solid résumé.
Call Me Mother isn’t Lucas’ only notable project. He also appeared as Mickey, the son of Baron Geisler’s character, in the action-drama series Incognito, where his scenes were tied closely to the show’s emotional core. Beyond drama, Lucas is also part of the new batch of Goin’ Bulilit, which returned to free TV in 2024.
