The cast of Avatar: The Last Airbender continues to grow its roster of Filipino talent. Joining Gordon Cormier as Aang and Season 2 addition Dolly de Leon as the Fire Nation twins Lo and Li is Filipino-Taiwanese child actor Jordan Roberto Chien, who takes on the role of Young Zuko in the Netflix series.

He’s a Filipino-Taiwanese actor based in Los Angeles.
Jordan Roberto Chien was born in Los Angeles, California, on November 12, 2016. According to his IMDb biography, he is of Filipino and Taiwanese descent and developed an interest in performing at a young age.
Jordan has shared that growing up around music and performance inspired him to pursue acting, singing, and dancing from an early age.
His mom is Filipina singer Josephine “Banig” Roberto.
Jordan comes from a family with deep roots in entertainment. His mother is Filipina singer Josephine “Banig” Roberto, who first gained recognition as a child performer in the Philippines before building a music career in the United States. She won the International Star Search championship in 1988 after previously appearing on Ang Bagong Kampeon.
Josephine has been one of Jordan’s biggest supporters throughout his acting journey. After Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 premiered, she shared on Instagram how meaningful it was to watch her son join one of the world’s biggest fantasy franchises. She also told the Journal that while the entertainment industry can be demanding for young performers, Jordan has always loved being on set and has the support of their entire family.

Jordan’s performance also earned praise from the actors playing the older members of the Fire Nation royal family. In an interview with TVLine, Dallas Liu, who portrays Prince Zuko, said Jordan “definitely understood the assignment” and described him as “such a kind kid.”
Elizabeth Yu, who plays Princess Azula, also reflected on watching the younger actors bring the siblings' childhood to life. She said seeing those scenes with their mother, Ursa, helped deepen the emotional connection to the characters they portray in the present-day timeline.
“We’re watching it from older Zuko and Azula’s perspective. So getting to finally see in real life that connection between these characters that we’re playing and their mom, and getting to hold onto that.”
He’s been building an acting career since he was five.
Long before joining one of Netflix's biggest fantasy series, Jordan had already started working in film and television.
He made his acting debut in the 2023 short film Adam’s Song before appearing in projects including Kodar, Rec Ball, and Sweet Homecoming. He also appeared in the Disney+ documentary Pets, directed by Bryce Dallas Howard.
His résumé extends beyond on-screen roles. Jordan has voiced young characters in productions including Yo Gabba GabbaLand! and English dubs of Korean series such as Moving and Would You Marry Me?
