Jessica Sanchez is "America's Got Talent" Season 20's champion.

Pinoy pride peaks once more as Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez emerges as the champion of the 20th season of America's Got Talent! After edging out auditionees from all over the United States, she becomes the first solo female winner of the show since 2017, and the first former competitor to come back victorious.

Jessica Sanchez Wins "America's Got Talent" Season 20

Over the course of three months, Jessica wowed both viewers and the judges with her stellar voice. Her rendition of Benson Boone's Beautiful Things during the audition round got her a Golden Buzzer moment from Sofia Vergara, sending Jessica straight to the live shows. Her raw display of talent—all while heavily pregnant, mind you—earned her a spot in the succeeding rounds, until she found herself in the finals. Earlier today at around 11 a.m. Philippine time, she was officially crowned the top talent of the series.

Congratulations poured in from all fronts, including Sofia, who helped escalate her spot in the competition by pressing the Golden Buzzer. Here in the Philippines, hosts of noontime show It's Showtime also sent their love, with Vice Ganda expressing: "Kung saan saan, nananalo na ang mga Pilipino... Kailangang din manalo ang mga Pilipino sa Pilipinas."

Netizens praised Jessica's journey, not only during the competition, but throughout the 20 years she's been pursuing her career. She was a part of America's Got Talent's inaugural season in 2006, where she placed in the top 40. Notably, she also took part in the 11th season of American Idol, once again gaining the world's fancy, and placing as a runner-up. Her win this 2025 is a testament to "not giving up on your dreams," as an X user put it.

Others also highlighted her evident growth, not only as a singer, but as a person. She was, after all, nine months pregnant when she belted out her rendition of Die with a Smile in the finale!

Another netizen likened her to Pia Wurtzbach, noting how they both had to go through a series of rejections before finally landing on a top spot. These queens prove that third time's certainly the charm!

Pinoys who rooted for Jessica back in 2012 during her American Idol stint couldn't help but celebrate her win. Jessica was a standout during her season, infamously svaed by the judges' vote when she was nearly eliminated mid-season, and finishing in second place to Philip Philips. "13 years na hinanakit ng mga Pilipino ay finally healed," one user put it.
