Did You Know? Gazini Ganados Almost Wore a Different Evening Gown for MGI All Stars

When it comes to beauty pageants, fashion lovers await the evening gown portion the most. After all, it showcases fabrics and silhouettes that reflect where the queens come from and what story they want to bring forward on the international stage.

For the first-ever Miss Grand International All Stars, the evening gown segment got a lot of buzz online, particularly for Filipino fans.

While Gazini Ganados radiated and stood out in the Rian Fernandez sculptural gown she wore during the evening gown segment, fans expressed their shock online because they anticipated a different gown.

Filipino fashion designer Ehrran Montoya shared a post that featured photos and videos of Gazini wearing an evening gown she designed to represent the beauty queen's Filipino-Palestinian heritage.

The post's caption reads, "An ode to two homelands. Inspired by Filipino royalty and heritage, this Ehrran Montoya masterpiece honors not only the soul of the Philippines, but also the strength and pride of Gazini Ganados’ Palestinian roots."

While the dress was not worn by Gazini, it still ended up on the MGI All Stars stage. The reigning Miss Grand International Emma Tiglao hosted the ceremony alongside Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee and Ecuadorian actor Danila Carrera, and the aforementioned Ehrran Montoya creation was one of the dresses she wore.

The one comment that got a lot of attention was from a Facebook user who questioned why Emma ended up wearing the dress. The designer honestly expressed her confusion with the decision, saying that the design was made exclusively for Gazini.

Mixed reactions were garnered from the netizens. Some shared that it was a better decision for Gazini to wear something else, especially since a lot of the queens were already in gold.

While others expressed their preference for the Ehrran Montoya gown over the Rian Fernandez she wore, saying that the former one is a much grander choice for the MGI All Stars stage.
