Carlos Yulo Proposes to Chloe San Jose with Two Engagement Rings

Wedding bells are ringing for Carlos Yulo and Chloe San Jose!

After his victorious run at the 2026 Asian Games, the star gymnast and his other half took to social media to announce their engagement—which was actually a secret they kept since December of 2025!

A kindred moment captured by Nice Print Photo, Carlos and Chloe's engagement commenced nine months prior, a matter of weeks after the athlete returned from training in Japan. In a video documenting the romantic milestone, Chloe can be seen visibly giddy as Carlos guides her to an elaborate set-up filled with flowers and lights.

As Carlos got down on one knee, he presented Chloe with a white gold cocktail ring, nesting a large oval-cut teal gemstone with a halo of diamonds. After initially popping the question and getting Chloe's sweet "Yes," the Olympian surprised her again with another wedding band. This time, he proposed to her with a heart-shaped yellow gemstone ring, similarly encased in brilliant-cut diamonds.

Carlos expressed that the dual engagement rings were representative of his mutual love and support for his fiancee. "Si Chloe po talaga ang tumulong sa akin magkaroon ng two gold medals sa Olympics. And para sa akin, sya ang gold medal ng puso ko," he expresses.

While the two have yet to divulge when their wedding day is, they did express their excitement over saying "I do" to one another soon. On Instagram, they recounted their love story, which began with Chloe sending Carlos a simple "I'm a fan po" message online.

"And from there, life became a collection of airports, competitions, hotel rooms, long training days, little adventures, big dreams, and countless moments in between. I got to watch you chase your dreams, and you let me be beside you through the biggest moments of your life. We grew up together. We learned together. We fought for each other, protected each other, supported each other, and built a life of our own," she wrote.

Coincidentally, Carlos discussed his potential wedding plans with Chloe in a recent interview with Karen Davila, explicitly stating that he would prefer not to invite his parents. This sentiment comes after a series of bouts between him and his mother Angelica Yulo, who has publicly expressed her disapproval of his relationship with Chloe.

"Because kasal po namin 'yun and relationship po namin, and mas pipiliin kong kami na lang," Carlos said. "Ayoko ring masira 'yung moment namin... ayaw ko 'yun mamantiyahan. Marami na silang ginawa na pinatawad ko na, and hanggang doon na lang din 'yun."
