It looks like Perfect Crown is a reunion project for Byeon Woo Seok in more ways than one. ICYDK, the actor and his leading lady, IU, previously appeared together in Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.
But what many might not know is that Woo Seok has worked with Gong Seung Yeon in the past as well. In fact, their 2019 project blossomed into a close friendship nearing a decade

In Perfect Crown, Woo Seok plays I-An, the Grand Prince Regent of a constitutional monarchy. Tension grows between him and his sister-in-law, the Queen Dowager Yoon Yi-rang, portrayed by Gong Seung Yeon, over concerns about succession for the crown.
While the two may be adversaries in the series, Woo Seok and Seung Yeon go way back and are actually close friends in real life. If you were wondering how the two became best buddies, proximity definitely helped.
Woo Seok and Seung Yeon are actually under the same talent agency. They started off in BH Entertainment before both of them moved to a new agency established by the same company in 2020, Varo Entertainment.
They were given their first project together in 2019. Before Perfect Crown, Woo Seok and Seung Yeon starred side by side in Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency. In the historical series, they’re members of the Flower Crew, Joseon’s most successful matchmaking and marriage agency, alongside Kim Min Jae and Park Ji Hoon.

That’s not all either. In the same year, they also featured in the music video for Song Request, a ballad sung by Lee Sora and Suga of BTS. Woo Seok and Seung Yeon didn’t really interact in the MV, but one thing’s for sure: these projects undoubtedly bonded them for life.
Over the years, the pair have since shared interviews, walked red carpets, and attended events together before finally booking their reunion project in Perfect Crown.

Jam’s way of exploration is by reading and writing. She hopes to always be lost in words and, occasionally, a good podcast.
