Leading Alex's homecoming surprise were Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Pato Gregorio, Philippine Olympic Committee President Cong. Bambol Tolentino, and Philippine Tennis Association Secretary General John Rey Tiangco. The tennis star also was treated to a special performance by Banda Kawayan Pilipinas.
Amid the celebration, Cong. Bambal recalled when Alex represented the country at the recent Thailand SEA Games, where she took home the gold medal for women's singles tennis. It was also the first time a Filipina singles player won the gold since 1999.
Continuing the Wimbledon dress code, Alex traveled in comfort and style wearing a chic all-white ensemble—knitwear cardigan over a top, pants, and Nike sneakers. She accessorized the look with a layer of gold necklaces, with one bearing her initial.
Welcome home, Alex!
