Over the weekend, TikTok latched onto a story involving Adam Sandler and his daughter, Sadie Sandler, alleging that she had been snubbed at a Chanel boutique in Beverly Hills. The events unfolded like a modern-day Pretty Woman, involving a luxury store, a casually dressed teenager browsing high-end bags, a supposedly dismissive sales associate, and a father who storms in and drops hundreds of thousands of dollars to prove a point.

It had all the ingredients for a viral story, except for one problem: It didn’t happen.

Adam Sandler Slams Fake News Involving Daughter Being "Snubbed" at a Chanel Store

According to the viral posts, 19-year-old Sadie Sandler was browsing Chanel’s classic flap bags when staff allegedly dismissed her because she was dressed in relaxed, off-duty staples. Adam Sandler supposedly arrives, confronts the sales associate, and retaliates by spending more than $300,000 on handbags in a single, sweeping purchase.

While speaking at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, where he was honored with the Maltin Modern Master Award, Adam addressed the rumor head-on.

"By the way, there's something on the internet talking about that dumb thing," the actor says. "I've been hearing about this thing, and I saw it, and it's just insane. It's just this made-up, weird thing that people ask me about. And I'm just like, 'I've never heard of this in my life.' That story was 100 percent insane and made-up, and not a word of it is true."

In true Adam Sandler fashion, he then proceeded with a punchline: "But there's also some story I heard about me going to an In-N-Out Burger at midnight and getting a bunch of Double-Doubles, and I have to say, that story is true," he adds. "So that one's true. The other one's pathetic."

When it comes to fake news, at least now we know that he's not one to just go with it!
