While you can create the same effect with the use of Photoshop and tricky camera settings, YouTuber Amy Serrano found an easier way to score similar results. Her trick? Placing a tiny amount of moisturizer or petroleum jelly on the lens of your camera.

If you don't have a DSLR like her, you can also employ the same trick on your phone's camera. Amy smears the product directly on the lens, but if you don't want any potential damage, you can place some cling wrap on it beforehand for protection. After that, pat it down with tissue to adjust the "blurriness."

That trick alone will already give your photos a dream-like quality to it, but to amp it up more, you need to use some glow-boosting makeup products. Make sure to apply a blinding highlighter on the highest points of your face, put on some gloss, and place some glitter on your lids, too. These will create some sparkles that will def a little extra something to your pictures.

Once you're done prepping your phone and your face, it's time to take some photos! Make sure to turn the flash on so that the light will pick up the sparkles on your makeup and accessories.

After you're done taking photos, the only editing you'll need to do is adjusting the brightness to your liking and adding some grain for a more vintage effect. Post your pics and see the double taps come in!
