Among the unexpected things brought about by the government’s stay-at-home order is the Dalgona Iced Coffee, a beverage craze that levels up your instant coffee experience. We talked about it, we tried it, and we loved it. But if there's one thing the recipe falls short of, it's practicality. We applaud those who can easily whip up (pun intended) this drink on the daily, but for girls who prefer to prepare their coffee with less effort, there must be alternatives!
Here are three equally delicious coffee recipes that you can try if Dalgona’s just too much work for you.
1. Coffee Milkshake
We’re down for any grownup version of a childhood favorite. What we love about this recipe is that it hits the same sweet and creamy spot that the Dalgona Coffee does.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup of coffee
- 1 and 1/2 cups of cold milk
- 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream
- ½ tablespoon of chocolate syrup
- 2 teaspoons of sugar
Instructions
Make ¼ cup of coffee and cool. Mix all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth, and you're done! It's a sweet treat in a jiffy! If you want to level up the presentation, add more chocolate syrup and chocolate shavings to garnish.
2. Coffee Ice Cubes
This may look familiar to you if you’ve heard of UCC Café’s iconic Kori Kohi drink. Make your own rendition at home with just two ingredients. The best part? You can even prepare this the night before!
Ingredients
- 2 cups of coffee
- ½ cup of warm milk
Instructions
Make two (2) cups of coffee, or any amount that’s enough to fill your chosen ice cube tray. Pour over the cooled coffee on your ice tray and freeze overnight. Put four to six ice cubes in a glass and pour in warm milk. Now's the time to take your cute IG story pic, a.k.a. your drink's most Instagrammable part! Add some sweetener if preferred.
3. Irish Coffee
In the mood for a coffee or a cocktail? This hits both spots! It’s the perfect thing for your next Netflix party session.
Ingredients
- 1 cup of coffee
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 3 tablespoons of whiskey
- Whipped cream
Instructions
Make one (1) cup of coffee and pour into your glass. Add sugar and stir until it's completely dissolved. Add whiskey and stir to mix. Top with whipped cream and add ice if desired. Bottoms up!
