Shortly after becoming an instant box office hit worldwide, a sequel to the Crazy Rich Asians movie is apparently in the works!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Jon M. Chu is planning to return with his original circle of producers and screenwriters for the sequel. Development for the project is said to have begun, and the team is only waiting for Warner Bros. to give them the green light. Given the film's success, however, many are positive that the entertainment company will sign for another movie.
The second book in Kevin Kwan's trilogy, China Rich Girlfriend, will focus on Astrid Leong's (Gemma Chan) romance with a former flame, as well as Rachel Chu's (Constance Wu) search for her biological father in China.
