Crash Landing on You took the internet by storm in 2019 as die-hard fans all over the world were left enthralled by its heart-fluttering storyline and the electrifying chemistry between its leads, Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin. With that said, there's no denying that it's made a lasting impact on its viewers. A true testament to its remarkable success, the series is even currently ranked third in the list of highest-rating K-dramas of all time on cable TV.

It’s been more than a year since CLOY first aired, but luckily for fans, the story is far from over. How so? Well, the popular series is now primed to have a musical adaptation by next year.
Yes, you read that right! According to an article by Soompi, production companies Pop Music and T2N Media have received the go signal to produce it after having completed the story's global copyright contract with Studio Dragon. The show is set to open in Seoul come mid-2022.
Check out the teaser poster released by Pop Music, below.

While the upcoming stage version may not have its original cast, Pop Music CEO Kim Jin Seok promised not to let OG CLOY fans down. “We will do our best to create a good project. In particular, since it’s a project in which the fame of the source IP (intellectual property) is very large, we’ve already received inquiries from many actors and foreign production companies,” he said in a statement.
Though we still can't quite imagine how this theatrical adaptation of Captain Ri and Yoon Se-ri’s love story will pan out, we’re still definitely excited for what’s to come. Fingers crossed that by then international travel will be safer and more accessible so we can watch the show for ourselves in the flesh.
