For most of us, we’re still stuck working inside our homes, so what better way than to redesign your space just the way you like it? That’s what Maggie Wilson did in her new Acasa Design Story episode for her good friend and local celebrity, Rhian Ramos’ bedroom.
In case you didn’t know, Maggie studied interior design at SoFa (School of Fashion and the Arts) and is now working as an interior designer and owner of Acasa Manila—a home store that offers unique decor pieces. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that when a friend needs her help to revive a dull space, Maggie fully commits to it. In her recent video, we discover the story behind Maggie’s interior choices and how she transformed Rhian’s bedroom into the actress’ minimalist aesthetic. Towards the end, the result was mind-blowing. We honestly couldn’t believe our eyes!
Below, we run down all of the most stunning details we spotted in Rhian’s minimalist bedroom, so we can all gaze and write some inspos down together:
The best details spotted in Rhian Ramos' new bedroom:
1. The gray, white, and black palette
Every minimalist’s dream is to see neutral colors embodying their space, and Rhian made that very clear from the start. With a solid queen-size mattress as Maggie’s basis for the whole interior design plan, she transformed the bland wooden print of the built-in closet by plastering contact paper to cover it. Now, the grayish white wall effortlessly blends with Rhian’s closet, gray bedding, and black steel bed frame making the room look so clean and fresh!
2. The muted baby blue curtains
Who knew a tiny splash of color inside a contemporary modern interior would look so good? Maggie specifically customized a sheers and blackout curtains set for Rhian’s large, bare windows. The choice of muted baby blue curtains on top of white sheers gave a soft aura to the room. Imagine waking up to the sun slightly peeking through those drapes—a true peaceful way to enjoy the morning view.
3. The three-framed simple line art
Above Rhian’s bed frame are these fancy yet simple line art frame decors. The frame displays don’t just fill up the empty space but they also definitely added a more feminine touch. The actress also revealed that she was so surprised that Maggie chose the exact same design she chose prior to this makeover. “I was really planning on getting that whole line art, and the one that I chose was really like the female form,” she shares. Call it coincidence, but we think this room revamp was just meant to be designed by Maggie Wilson!
4. The matching carpet and floor cushions
Since Rhian loves to lounge around her bedroom floor, Maggie made sure to adjust to her friend’s everyday living routine. She customized a furry, gray patterned carpet and two floor cushions that still match with the minimal aesthetic. As Rhian would describe them, “To have the floor cushions and be so comfy, I can imagine myself putting one over there and having coffee in the morning.”
5. Her sleek work desk
A must for every bedroom is a corner where you can sit down and laser focus on doing work. The gray monochrome desk and chair paired with the iconic gold and black lamp has the word chic all over it. On top of that, the modern sculpture, mini potted plant, and wire baskets quickly inspires you to start being productive.
