Here are five things we know so far:

1. It'll be on HBO Max.

Gossip Girl originally aired on The CW from 2007 to 2012. But for its revival, Warner Bros. found the series a new home via their upcoming streaming service HBO Max, which is set to launch Spring 2020.

2. The logline for the reboot suggests a different plot—meaning, it's possible there might not be a new Serena and Blair.

So far, the show has been described to be an "extension" of the original. The logline reads, "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media—and the landscape of New York itself—has changed in the intervening years."

3. There will be 10 episodes.

HBO Max has apparently ordered 10 hour-long episodes for the teen drama, according to Deadline.

4. The original creators will still be in charge.

Joshua Safran will return as the executive producer and writer for the new version, while Gossip Girl's original creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are also still on board. Joshua tells the Hollywood Reporter that the reboot has something they've already talked about for a while. "The stars aligned and we had availability to jump—and Warners, obviously, it's something they're very passionate about. It seemed like the best time and also the best way to do it," he adds.

5. No cast announcements yet.

Gossip Girl helped launched the careers of its original cast, such as Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick. The new set of actors will definitely have big shoes to fill, and as of writing, there's no confirmation yet as to who will star the reboot—or if anyone from the original cast will be making a comeback.
