With the 2028 national and local elections approaching, eligible Filipinos will soon have another opportunity to register to vote or update their voter information.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announced that nationwide voter registration will resume on November 10, 2026, and run until July 30, 2027. The extended registration period aims to give Filipinos ample time to complete the process ahead of the next elections, particularly those who may find it difficult to visit registration offices because of school, work, or other personal commitments.

COMELEC to Reopen Voter Registration From November 10 to July 30, 2027

Earlier this month, COMELEC Chairperson George Erwin Garcia indicated that voter registration could resume in early November, allowing Filipinos to register, reactivate their voter status, or update their registration details. The extended registration period would also give COMELEC sufficient time to verify and finalize the list of registered voters.

On October 28, 2026, Garcia officially announced that voter registration would resume on November 10.

Speaking to reporters on October 28, Garcia said, “Sa mga kababayan nating gustong magparehistro dahil hindi sila rehistrado, magpa-revive ng registration, magpa-transfer ng kanilang registration o kaya naman magpa-reactivate ng kanilang registration o magpabago sa kahit anong datos doon, gawin nyo po yan mula November 10 at ito po ay tatagal hanggang sa next year, as much as possible July 30.”

Voter registration will be available from Tuesdays to Fridays, with additional registration schedules on Saturdays and holidays subject to prior arrangements. In addition to accepting new voter applications, COMELEC will accommodate requests to correct registration details, transfer voter records from overseas to local precincts, and update the records of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens.

COMELEC will also resume its Register Anywhere Program (RAP), allowing eligible Filipinos to register at designated locations outside their home districts. These include universities, government offices, shopping malls, and other private establishments.

Meanwhile, the Special Register Anywhere Program will resume at select airport terminals and other designated locations, particularly to accommodate overseas voters seeking to transfer their registration records to the Philippines.
