Chloe Grace Moretz, a.k.a. Hit-Girl of the Kick-Ass films is now ready to go under the sea. Universal just confirmed that they are working on a new version of the classic Hans Christian Andersen tale, with Moretz to play the lead.
The 18 year-old star posted the news on Instagram:
"Here it is!! I've been waiting months to tell everyone how excited I am to take on this beautiful journey with Working Title, Universal, and a beautiful script by Richard Curtis... #TheLittleMermaid!!!! Here we go!!!."
The timetable, director, and other cast members (we’re excited to know who will end up as Prince Eric!) are yet to be announced, but with Universal Pictures and Working Title Films producing it, we’re pretty sure the story won’t be as close to the original Disney film with the red-head Ariel.
Chloe does have the right amount of spunk and beauty to play the role of the curious mermaid who falls in love with a prince. Exciting!
