Heart Evangelista, a multi-hyphenate star known for her impressive taste in fashion, philanthropic work, and artistry, recently had a bigger canvas to work her magic on: her own condo unit from RLC Residences! Located at the Sapphire Bloc in Ortigas, Heart turned her one-bedroom into her personal city oasis together with her good friend and interior designer Geewel Fuster as well as Architects Chris and Astrid Belo of the firm PBELL + A.ID.
Heart shares that she chose the Sapphire Bloc primarily of three things: location, security, and its elegant barebone structure. Heart was drawn to the unit's high ceilings and large windows, which made decorating it easier. According to Geewel, the only challenge they encountered was to manipulate and maximize the space they have to serve Heart's needs.
Below, we round up the chicest details we love about her brand new condo, plus some tips straight from Heart when it comes to decorating your own space.
LOOK: 6 Chic Details of Heart Evangelista's new condo at the Sapphire Bloc
1. She went with a dominantly white interior motif.
Fact: Heart loves the color white. The GMA Artists says that on days when she doesn't know what to wear, she goes back to neutrals, specifically to white. For her, the color gives her a sense of peace, and so it's only natural to extend this to her living space. Heart says that it was a no-brainer choice for her to go with shades of white for her condo. It was easy on the eyes, and made the entire space seem bigger.
Heart's Tip: White doesn't have to be boring. Mix different textures in various white hues to create a dynamic space without risking it to look cluttered.
2. She reused items from her own home as decor.
One way Heart made her new unit feel like home was by bringing items over from her main house! Some of the key pieces she brought to decorate her space were a painting she did of her dog, Panda, as well as the giant Moet champagne bottle with messages scrawled on it from her 37th birthday celebration.
Heart's Tip: Don't rush decorating your place! According to Heart, getting her place perfect and just right took time. It's a process you need to take on bit by bit so you don't get overwhelmed with the expenses and choices. It's also a way for you to be more intentional and thoughtful with the things you keep in your home.
3. She opted for a bigger office than a bedroom.
We all know that Heart has a plethora of interests and ventures, thus she needed a large office to ‘fit all her big, creative ideas! To make way for this office, Heart and the designers chose to convert what would have been the bedroom into the star’s very own stylish studio!
Heart's Tip: Know what your needs are and what you'll use the space for the most. That way, you can prioritize the right furniture and invest in the best pieces.
4. Heart chose a minimalist design despite being a maximalist.
Heart is a self-admitted maximalist, as she mentioned in her vlog! You might be wondering why she chose to go the minimal route with her new condo but as explained by designer, Astrid, the choice was made because of Heart’s duality in fashion and interior design! While Heart can stun in loud, voluminous pieces, she can also rock a minimalist OOTD, which is why it was important for the designers to give her a clean canvas that she could really play around with.
Heart's Tip: You don't need to go big in all aspects. You can choose which pieces will speak to the different parts of yourself. In Heart's case, she chose to bring in her sartorial inspo through the core pieces: the marble table inspired by Bvlgari, the beveled mirrors and French black doors inspired by Coco Chanel's house.
5. Heart opted for a lot of mirrors.
Mirrors are a popular choice for condo units because it gives the illusion of a larger space. But other than that, the main reason Heart wanted a lot of mirrors in her unit was for all her Instagram reels of her different looks! The mirrors featured in her condo also came in varying hues like silver, bronzer, and grey to avoid being repetitive. As a tribute to one of her favorite designers, the beveled mirror in her office was inspired by the iconic mirrored stairs of the Chanel showroom at Rue Cambon.
6. Her unit features an open closet.
Not wanting to be restricted by cabinets, Heart instead went for an open closet to feature her clothing! In a previous interview of Heart’s, the star explained that clothes are a work of art and should be displayed instead of just stored away. To make her words a reality, the team constructed an open closet design that can highlight Heart's gorgeous pieces.
Heart's Tip: Since you have curated the things in your space well, you can easily display them and make them part of the decor. Like Heart, she doesn't just want to keep her items hidden away in a cabinet. Fashion makes her happy, so it makes sense that she proudly displays her outfits in an open rack.
