Since Catriona Gray wowed the world with her showstopping lava walk during the Miss Universe preliminaries, all eyes have been on her. Naturally, it wasn’t just the walk that fanned the flames though, for the pageant queen is undeniably witty and charismatic.
Lo and behold, the country’s hopeful predictions were realized when she was crowned as Miss Universe 2018. From television show guestings, to brand endorsements, to philanthropic efforts, Catriona handled her responsibilities with grace since her winning night. She also continued to promote her personal advocacies, which include caring for underprivileged children and HIV/AIDS awareness and education.
Today, she will be passing on the crown to the next Miss Universe winner. Before she steps down from her throne and embarks on a new phase of her life, we look back at the many times she has stunned the world not only with her beauty but with her genuine heart and kindness.

The month after she was bestowed the privilege of becoming Miss Universe, Catriona was introduced to the world through TV show guestings and interviews. She charmed audiences with her intelligence and wit.
When she did a makeup tutorial for Vogue U.S.
It was only a matter of time before the fashion world enlisted Catriona for beauty advice. For Vogue, she gave a tutorial on how to cop her winning makeup look, much to the excitement of beauty enthusiasts everywhere.
When she made an appearance in the NFL Honors.
Last February, Catriona graced the NFL Honors in a body-hugging black gown. “I actually was very surprised going into the NFL Honors and seeing how they not only focused on the players’ achievements but how they contributed back to their community. So, I came out of that event feeling very inspired," she shared on Miss Universe.
When Manila welcomed back their queen.
A homecoming parade was rolled out for the Philipines’ winning queen. Catriona wore a gorgeous Mak Tumang terno-inspired pantsuit featuring a sampaguita motif.
When she wrote an open letter for Women’s Day.
Back in March, Catriona addressed women all over the world to uplift their spirits on Women’s Day. The open letter was published on Love Yourself Philippines, an organization that promoted HIV/AIDS treatment and education, which she has been supporting even before she was named as queen.
"I've often been asked what's the best part of being a woman in 2019, and my answer is that we (women) are beginning to come together in communities and build each other up because it's really when we combine our voices together that we begin to break barriers,” part of the letter reads.
When she was named the “godmother” of an organization.
The Latino Commission on AIDS proudly named Catriona as the madrina or "godmother" of the organization. It was a perfect fit, given the fact that the organization has been a partner of the Miss Universe organization since 2006. “I will do everything I can to support these important efforts,” she said.
When she joined the panel of judges for Miss South Africa 2019.
When the queen went on a tour of South Africa, she capped off the journey by gracing the coronation night of Miss South Africa as a judge. She also got to spend some with Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters as well as Miss Universe 2018 1st runner-up Tamaryn Green.
When she delivered home-cooked meals to those in need.
Back in August, Catriona volunteered for God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that cooks and delivers meals for the sick or those who are not able to cook for themselves. Catriona went door-to-door to the people whom the organization serves, and they enjoyed her company.
When she went to New York Fashion Week.
Catriona sat front-row at the coolest brands during New York Fashion Week where she got to interview designers and listened to the stories behind the collections. She also got to sport some of the hottest runway looks herself, including Badgley Mischka, Sherri Hill, and Rebecca Minkoff.
When she volunteered for an organization that fights HIV/AIDS.
GHMC is the “the world’s first and leading provider of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and advocacy,” which is in line with Catriona’s personal platform as Miss Universe. In the video below, she’s seen whipping up meals and serving those who are in the center—no glamorous fanfare whatsoever.

At the event, she opted to go for an off-shouldered jet-black dress paired with a Swarovski necklace—one of her most memorable yet underrated outfits yet.
When she received the ‘Woman of The Year’ on her first trip to Dubai.
Catriona’s first trip to the UAE was quite an eventful one. Aside from adventures in the desert, she was also given the ‘Woman of The Year’ recognition by Xpedition, a Dubai-based luxury magazine.
When she sported a bare face to promote self-confidence.
Just last month, Catriona posted a no-makeup selfie on Instagram to inspire women to be confident in their own skin. “I too have days where I don’t feel confident, or my insecurities are louder...but that's okay. Loving yourself as you are is a journey, but it's a journey worth taking,” the caption read.

Just last week, Catriona Gray finally shook hands with aspiring Miss Universe candidates and even snagged a selfie with the Philippines' bet Gazini Ganados. They got to bond during a benefit for Smile Train, an organization that provides treatment to children with cleft lip and palate. Naturally, the 2019 candidates were left feeling inspired and invigorated for the upcoming competition.
