If you’re a Kathniel fan, Cala Laiya might already be familiar with you as couples like them have been snapped vacationing here. This includes Kathryn and Daniel's friends Sofia Andres and Daniel Miranda—whom they frequently travel with—Miss World Philippines 2021 Second Princess Janelle Lewis and Kiko Estrada, and Youtuber Ashley Yap with beau Reph Bangsil. And who can blame them? Aside from its unique cottages, it's a fashionably lowkey resort perfect for a quick beach getaway!
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Cala Laiya:
Where is it located?
Good news! The resort is only a 2.5 hour drive away from Manila. From the name itself, the cozy paradise is stationed at Laiya in San Juan, Batangas. It faces the Tayabas Bay, which features a wide marine sanctuary just waiting to be explored.
How much does it cost to stay?
Cala Laiya is popular for their stacked container-like homes or Casitas, which means ‘little house’ in Spanish. Aside from the sustainable and eco-friendly house design, the brown and white color scheme gives it a modern feel, perfect for travelgrams!
They have 4 different types of cottages that are all walking distance from the pool and the beach. For only P6500 a night on a weekday and P12,000 during the weekends, you’ll be able to stay at their Garden Casita that’s good for two people. For larger groups, the Two Bedroom Casita and Three Bedroom Casita go for P11,000 to P23,000 and P24,000 to P32,000 respectively.
Want a greater view? Just request for a beach-front Casita!
The signature day-beds in front of the beach are perfect for a weekend slow down. You can read a book, sleep, and enjoy the sunset!
You can also explore the calm sea through paddle boarding, kayaking, and a balsa raft for a larger party. But if you’re looking for something fun, the thrilling 15 minute banana boat or sea wagon ride will do the trick for P2250 (5 pax)! And since Cala Laiya is at the center of marine life, some of the best snorkeling spots are found just a few meters away. Make sure to try the activity for P500 per head.
