Here’s an open secret: the South is definitely the chillest place in Metro Manila. Maybe it’s the open spaces and the relatively lighter traffic, but the South’s laid back charm has always been a breath of fresh air for city dwellers. Bungalow Café and Bakery embodies this ideal Southern escape. With its light and airy interiors, you’re immediately transported from the busy metropolis to a chic and rustic farmhouse that invites you to slow down and delight in the moment.

IG-worthy as the café already is, it’s actually the food that will keep you coming back to your new favorite brunch spot. Serving an assortment of sweet and savory dishes that taste just as good as they look, their meals aren’t just a treat for your palate, but they’re feed goals for the ‘gram, too!

The restaurant has a penchant for taking classic brunch staples and putting their twist on it. The Eggs Benedict (P450) gets a subtle yet impactful upgrade wherein instead of poached eggs, they use sous vide eggs, a technique that ensures perfect runniness every single time. Chili flakes also make it to the list of ingredients for their Berries & Ricotta Toast, (P480) adding an unexpected hint of heat to an otherwise saccharine treat.

Not to be overshadowed by the food, this cafe also has a strong latte game, with options for regular (P140), Soy (P150), Coconut (P160), Oat (P180), Almond (P190), and Dirty Chai (Php 190). Their bestseller remains to be the Vietnamese (P150),  a strong brew that is sweetened by condensed milk to perk up your mornings.

If your brunch calls for more fizz and pops, there’s always the traditional brunch cocktails, like the Strawberry Bellini (P240) and Mimosa (P240), or the more adventurous Pink Sangria (P290) and the Sugar, Spice, & Everything Nice! (P250).

Being an all-day breakfast joint, you don’t have to pressure yourself to wake up early to get your fix; that is, if you have already pre-ordered their freshly baked pastries and donuts as these tend to sell out. They change flavors every couple of days so you will always have a reason to return.
