Long before there were Vampire Diaries and Carrie Diaries, there was first Bridget Jones’s Diary. And now, the female protagonist who changed the name of the dating game for every single lady in her 30s is back.
“When someone loves you, it's like having a blanket all 'round your heart”- Bridget Jones
Since 2011, there have been plenty of rumors about a third installment to follow the success of the first two films. None of it has been confirmed…until now. Just recently, it has been reported that Renée Zellweger (as long as they don't require her to pack on the pounds again) and Colin Firth will be reprising their roles as Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy, respectively. The alluring Daniel Cleaver who was excellently played by Hugh Grant, however, will not be making a comeback. Sources say that what really got the ball rolling was when Patrick Dempsey agreed to join the cast instead. And although we'd have to admit that it won't be the same without Grant's caddish character, who are we to say no when McDreamy's in the picture?
With the working title ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’, we're surely hoping that they can make it work. We just don't want it to be on the sad list of sequels that flopped.
