MUJI’s biggest store in the Philippines is set to open this March and we’re already counting down the days until the big reveal. While waiting for the grand opening, why not check out some of the biggest and most beautiful MUJI stores across the world? You’ll find our 10 favorites below.

Each of these colossal store spaces is filled to the brim with the minimalist home finds, stationery, and apparel MUJI is known for, but each also has its own distinct charm, unique interior features, cool services, and even one-of-a-kind merch that make them worth the visit. As you scroll through, let your imagination run wild. Who knows what incredible secrets the biggest MUJI in the country could have in store for you? These outposts around the world will give you an idea.

These are the 10 best MUJI stores around the world to add to your bucket list:

1. MUJI in Ginza, Tokyo, Japan

Your MUJI bucket list wouldn’t be complete without the Japanese brand’s global flagship store—also the largest store in the world—located in Tokyo, which opened in 2019. With 10 floors and a basement level, MUJI Ginza is worth an entire day (or more) of exploration. The MUJI Diner is located on the basement floor while the first to fifth levels are dedicated to their usual lineup of minimalist home finds and apparel—each floor has a distinct theme, so you’ll be surprised when you head up to a new level. The sixth floor houses Atelier MUJI, where art exhibitions are seasonally displayed while all remaining floors on top make up the MUJI Hotel, which is decked out in furniture and interior design that matches the store’s famous form-meets-function philosophy.

2. MUJI in Kamppi Shopping Center, Helsinki, Finland

Finland’s first MUJI store, which opened in November 2019 in the country’s capital city, takes up the entire fourth floor of the Kamppi Shopping Center, spanning 3,600 square meters—the biggest in all of Europe. The expansive space feels like a mall all on its own with no obvious entrances and exits in sight. The store was modeled after the lifestyle of the Finnish people, many of whom are closely surrounded by nature. It boasts a "warm environment," notes the MUJI website, with lots of wooden fixtures and pillars "to create a connection between the spaces," and inspired by the small houses that can often be seen in the suburbs of Helsinki. It also has a mini supermarket inside.

7. MUJI in ILLUM Department Store, Copenhagen, Denmark

Denmark is a popular tourist destination for many reasons, but its modern functionalist architectural style, which highlights natural light and comfortable interiors, is definitely high on the list. Fittingly, MUJI’s flagship store in the country, located in central Copenhagen, sports the pristine design from end to end and the relaxing interiors perfectly complement the Japanese brand’s style philosophy. The store is partially made from reclaimed wood sourced from old buildings while many of the walls are made from recycled Eco plaster, following the Danish architectural movement’s focus on sustainable construction and energy systems. Should you make a visit, make sure to check out TeaHouse, MUJI’s first tea room in all of Europe, which offers a selection of tea, coffee, pastries, and Japanese confectionery.
