Given that South Korea is brimming with stunning visual stars, it would be near impossible to even attempt ranking the best of the best. It's a task that we should simply leave to the pros, and that's exactly what the team at Mnet's TMI News did.
On the show's 60th episode, plastic surgeons were asked to reveal the male celebrities whose faces are highly-requested by their clients. TMI News called the list "Face Wannabe Stars," and the experts identified seven of their top picks. Read on to see who made their list!
7. EXO's Sehun
Starting off the list is Oh Sehun, the youngest member and lead dancer of EXO. Next to his talents as a K-pop idol, Sehun is known for being one of the representative visuals of SM Entertainment. His most covetable features are his V-shaped jawline and nose bridge, the latter having such a perfect slope that EXO-Ls (EXO fans) can use it as a slide, the show quips.
6. BTS' Jin
Kim Seokjin, or Jin from BTS, came in sixth on the list for his handsome features. The show highlighted the striking similarity of Jin's face to that of the Greek god Zeus, whose sculptures are said to represent the "golden ratio" of facial symmetry. They also highlighted the international attention Jin has received online, being singled out by netizens in photos from the red carpet and with Western performers like The Chainsmokers.
5. Yook Sungjae
Goblin and Mystic Pop-Up Bar actor Yook Sungjae is the experts' pick for fifth place. The BTOB vocalist's charming looks have long been legendary in the industry, but it's his eyes in particular that landed him a spot on this list. They say that the fold of his double eyelids are so unique that it's almost impossible to replicate with plastic surgery!
4. Song Kang
Another star with highly-coveted and charming eyes is the "Son of Netflix," Song Kang. Plastic surgeon Ham Gi Won, who was featured in the episode, said the actor's face is kind of a mix of Yook Sungjae and Cha Eun Woo's—a compliment in itself!
3. BTS' V
According to the show, V of BTS' face is a harmony between coveted features in the East and West. The idol's global appeal is testament to this, charming millions with his picturesque visuals. Plastic surgeons told TMI News that many clients who go for eye surgery often bring V's photo with them, only to leave in defeat because of how difficult it is to replicate the star's peepers.
2. Seo Kang Joon
Out of everyone on the list, plastic surgeon Ham Gi Won claims that Seo Kang Joon's eyes are the most highly requested. The Cheese in the Trap actor's light brown irises almost make him look like he's wearing contact lenses (he isn't!), and his handsome features are simply the icing on the cake. Similar to V, male plastic surgery clients bring photos of Seo Kang Joon to their consultations in hopes of mimicking them.
1. Astro's Cha Eun Woo
To no one's surprise, South Korea's "face genius" Cha Eun Woo of Astro tops the "Face Wannabe Star" list by plastic surgeons. The idol-actor's perfectly symmetrical face is undoubtedly the most in-demand today, and we don't think we need to explain why. "Even I'm surprised whenever I see him," Dr. Ham remarked in the show, adding that everything about his face is perfect.
TMI News also showed clips of Eun Woo's fellow celebrities being stunned by his looks, and flashed photos of him from childhood that show his looks' natural progression.
