Sunnies Face co-founder Jess Wilson and her fiance Moritz Gastl finally got hitched in Palawan! The pair, who originally had to push back their nuptials due to the pandemic, tied the knot with an intimate beach wedding, while surrounded by select family and friends. In case you need a quick run-down of the romantic event, we’ve got you covered.
Here are all the highlights of Jess and Mortiz’s civil wedding.
1. Guests who were flown in were treated to a cool water landing.
To kick off the party’s wedding getaway, guests were flown into Culion, Palawan’s Sunlight Eco Tourism Island Resort via a private aircraft. As part of the luxury establishment’s experiences, those onboard were treated to a one-of-a-kind, totally safe water landing. An awestruck Anne Curtis-Smith even documented the moment on her Instagram stories, writing, “My first time to have a water landing…sooooo smoooooth. All of us were super quiet then…We couldn’t contain our happiness.”
2. The party embarked on a sunset cruise.
Once all the guests had arrived on the island, they had the pleasure of embarking on sunset cruise as part of the big weekend's welcome festivities. Jess, Moritz, and their closest family and friends journeyed out into the open sea for some cocktail, fresh air, and good company.
Everyone was even given pre-wedding swag to wear, in the form of personalized caps with the words "The Gastls," written on them.
3. Jess donned a baby blue bridal robe.
Unlike most brides, Jess ditched the white bridal robe and, instead, went with a dainty baby blue piece accented by a high slit and bishop sleeves!
4. The couple got hitched by the seaside.
Fast forward to to their wedding day, Jess and her now husband Mortiz Gastl said their "I dos" amid a breathtaking seaside setup. The bride, in particular, walked down a makeshift aisle made out of baby’s-breath flowers that were adorning the sand, as decorated by celebrity events stylist and florist Gideon Hermosa with the help of their wedding planner Amanda Tirol.
5. Jess wore a gorgeous Vania Romoff frock inspired by the Philippine Terno.
The rightful belle of the ball, Jess got hitched in a gorgeous white mini dress by designer Vania Romoff. Inspired by the Philippine terno, the frock’s butterfly sleeves came with a stand-out fringe detail to modernize her look. Meanwhile, Moritz looked effortlessly dashing in a Barong Tagalog and khakis to complement his bride.
6. They had an intimate reception dinner on the beach.
Leave it to Gideon Hermosa to deliver his brand of fairy tale wedding magic every time. As the sun set on the newlyweds, they joined their guests for a reception dinner by the beach, flanked by warm yellow lights set up by Gideon and his team.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
