Aesthetically-pleasing cafés are opening left and right, in and around Metro Manila, but if you want to check out a place that's both unique and Instagrammable, all you have to do is make your way to Intramuros and find the Belfry Café.

Belfry Café is the newest café in Intramuros that opened just last February 6, 2021. The name of the café comes from where the café is located: the ground belfry of the Minor Basilica and Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Concepcion (a.k.a. the ground bell tower of Manila Cathedral). So, yes, you're dining right underneath the church's ginormous bells.

As Belfry Café is still new, the menu is limited to iced or hot coffee and tea (they use local beans!), plus a number of pastries. Belfry Café staff told Yummy.ph that their bestsellers include the Caramel Macchiato and the Garlic Cream Cheese Bread.
According to Iana Peralta of the blog, Coffee Cup Series, when there are special occasions that require the use of the bells, the café makes sure that all its doors are open and there are no customers inside before they ring it.

Here's a little bit of Manila Cathedral trivia courtesy of Iana: The ground belfry houses a total of seven big bells, which were taken down from the adjacent belfry to lessen the weight being carried by the bell tower.
Belfry Café is open from Tuesdays to Fridays, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The café is closed every Monday.
