Just a few weeks ago, actress and Preview cover girl Bela Padilla shared a series of snaps from her scenic trip to Cappadocia, Turkey, and they’re definitely giving us a serious case of wanderlust.
Bela, of course, is back home in the Philippines and turned out with negative swab test results before posting her travel pics on Instagram. That said, while we’re all quarantining away at home, the next best bet for us sequestered travel junkies for now is to live vicariously through the actress’ IG feed, and that’s exactly what we’re doing today.
FYI, Cappadocia is a semi-arid region in Turkey best known for Göreme National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its breathtaking landscape of towering rocks and cave dwellings “entirely sculpted by erosion.”
Aside from this natural wonder, the province is most recognizable in aesthetic Instagram pics for being a hot air balloon wonderland as seen in the background of one of Bela’s posts.
“The Cappadocia hot air balloons are fast-becoming one of the most common travel bucket list items in the world,” writes travel blogger Jackson Groves. “It’s not hard to see why as you seamlessly float above the historic cave dwellings of Goreme Town with over 100 other balloons at sunrise in what can only be likened to a fairytale scene.”
Before your start planning your trip to Cappadocia in the future just to marvel at this whimsical balloon show, keep in mind that hot air balloons don’t float up the region everyday. In fact, you’ll have to book at least a two night stay just to catch the ideal weather for riding one.
Now that we’ve got the bare-bone basics of Cappadocia down, let’s check out where Bela went, as seen on her Instagram feed
Rose Valley, Cappadoccia
Bela and her new beau Norman Ben Bay , a.k.a. the one she “met is St. Gallen,” can be seen enjoying their drinks while overlooking the stunning sun kissed views of Rose Valley. This gorgeous sharp ridged destination in Cappadocia is home to numerous rock-carved churches, and is best visited at sunset.
Hotel Rox Cappadoccia
As for where she stayed, it looks like the actress took lodging at Hotel Rox Cappadocia, an establishment built inside a renovated old Greek house. Boasting of custom designed stone rooms, the hotel offers “panoramic views of Goreme and Guvercinlik Valley from its terraces.”
“I had to work most of the day and would always return tired but the staff were always so welcoming and kind,” wrote Bela while she also gushed over the Turkish meals that she most enjoyed during her stay.
Speaking of food, it seems Bela also took a quick bite in cafe Mado in Nevsehir. It’s a dessert restaurant franchise best know for their Turkish delights, and mouthwatering pastries.
