Bea Alonzo is returning to the big screen! The Eerie actress has signed on as the lead of the WWII feature Angel Warrior, described by international outlet Variety as a "Filipino-Hollywood" feature film. It will be produced by the US-based Inspire Studios, and is scheduled to begin production in the Philippines and Thailand this year.
Bea will star as Tala, an underground fighter who joins forces with Filipino and American guerrillas on the island of Panay in an effort to defy the Japanese occupation, which occurred between 1942 and 1945. The plot is reportedly based on a true story.
The Kapuso actress took to Instagram stories to confirm her involvement with the film.

The film will be written by Hollywood screenwriter Bruce McKenna, who penned the Emmy award-winning HBO series The Pacific. Presidential aspirant and boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is serving as an executive producer alongside Buranasompod Pongrapee and John Shepherd.
As of writing, the film has been set for worldwide release in late 2022. We're looking forward to it!
