Bea Alonzo is part of the long list of celebrities who have been lending a helping hand in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The actress and her close friends recently co-founded I am HOPE, an organization currently dedicated to providing assistance to medical frontliners.
One of the organization's most recent efforts happened last weekend, when the actress herself helped prepare food for several hospitals in Metro Manila. "Because it's Easter Sunday, I want to boost their morale through cooking and preparing a meal for them," she says in a video posted on Instagram.
In another post, Bea wrote, "For the first time, I tried to cook for one hundred people (but failed), I just ended up doing 98, but that's okay. Given the circumstances, I decided not to be hard on myself because the core reason why I cooked in the first place is to give a little joy to our frontliners, and just by doing that, I already felt fulfilled."
Along with the food personally cooked by the actress, some of her friends and brand partners provided other treats for medical staff such as milk tea, shawarma, and baked goods. The meals had a special note from the actress, too! It reads, "Happy Easter! Maraming salamat po! From, Your Easter Bobbie." ICDYK, Bobbie is the name of Bea's iconic role in the movie Four Sisters and a Wedding!
I am HOPE's food donations were delivered to Fatima Hospital, East Avenue Hospital, Lung Center of the Philippines, and Philippine Heart Center for 100 frontliners to enjoy. Needless to say, it looked like everyone had a good Easter weekend!
