Hollywood star Robert Pattinson has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, effectively halting all production efforts for Matt Reeves' The Batman.

The news came just days after Warner Bros. announced that they would be delaying the film after someone from the production had contracted the virus. “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for COVID-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused," read their full statement, though they opted not to identify the individual affected.

Robert's representatives have so far declined to answer calls from U.S. press seeking comment for the news. That said, the extent to which the actor has been affected remains unclear.

The Batman initially postponed filming in the U.K. last March due to the mandatory nationwide lockdown. Filming of the movie had only resumed three days ago.

In an interview with GQ last May, Robert revealed that he'd been social distancing with his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse. The two have since kept to their London apartment rented for Robert by Warner Bros.

On the same month, the British government drew up new guidelines to accompany giving film productions the go-ahead to restart filming. The rules set up by the British Film Commission and the British Film Institute included protocols on physical distancing, safety training, and temperature tests.
