When Ford Philippines asked if we wanted to participate in a bike tour around Intramuros, we couldn't say no! The afternoon started at Ford HQ in Manila Bay, where they took us for a spin in the EcoSport on our way to Intramuros.
Surprisingly, the car was able to easily navigate through the narrow streets of Intramuros. I say surprisingly because when you're in the car (as a driver or passenger), you feel like the car is bigger than it actually is because of the ample leg room. I sat in the driver's seat, passenger's seat, even the back seat to compare the difference and not once did I feel cramped in the EcoSport.

We headed to the Bambike EcoTour as soon as we got to Intramuros. Once we got there, we each chose a bamboo bike to cruise the city in.

Before the tour began, our tour guide oriented us on the rules and passed around some sunblock and bug repellant.
We cruised the streets with our bamboo bikes.

With the sun high, we took frequent breaks to cool down and got a lot of history lessons from our tour guide.

According to our tour guide, some believe that the couples that get married at the Manila Cathedral are doomed to separate. If you'll look at the door in the middle (where couples usually exit after they get married), there's a column that divides the door, forcing couples to exit separately as they step out of the church.
We ended the tour at the impressive Manila Cathedral, and from there biked our way back to the main office. Overall the ride was fun, educational, and an entertaining thing to do especially if you're looking to learn something about our culture.
You can book a tour and contact Bambike through their Facebook page or by calling 525 8289.
