Through the years, Antipolo has cemented itself as a go-to for big group get-togethers whether for school retreats or company team building weekends. The luscious hills allow for nicely tucked-away homes that make the perfect getaway spots—private, quiet, and breathtakingly scenic. The altitude also makes for cooler temperatures, a welcome reprieve from the 30-plus-degree weather in the metro. Oh, and the proximity to Manila (around a one hour drive away) isn’t a bad plus either.
Should you be looking at Antipolo to spend your next staycation, we’ve got just the right place for you. Introducing Balay Natu Country Home, a lovely hidden gem in the city, set in a large estate amongst the mountains.

Balay Natu is located in Pestano Farm, a 30-hectare family-owned estate. It’s a sprawling property, filled with greenery as far as the eye can see. Guests of this airbnb are free to roam around the unrestricted areas of the farm.
Before you enter, you’ll notice a long blue swimming pool that stretches across the side of the home. It’s set with trees all around, so when you take a dip you’ll be accompanied by a verdant sight and the relaxing sounds of nature—what an experience!

However, if you’re not much for swimming, that’s fine too. The owners have also put up multiple seating areas around the premises that are great for quiet moments like reading or for catching up with your friends. There’s even a fireplace, so you better get your s’mores kit ready when you book your stay.
Not to be left behind are the airbnb’s interiors, of course. There’s a living, dining, and kitchen area with ample space for you and your party to relax. Go up the stairs and you’ll be welcomed by a large, open space with tatami chairs that invite casual lounging, especially with the board games and books the owners have stocked their shelves with.

When it’s daytime, sunlight pours into the home, creating a beautiful light-filled sanctuary. Subsequently, when the night comes, you can look out into almost every window to see the starry sky. In Balay Natu, nature is your main attraction.

What’s convenient about Balay Natu is that it’s in the same estate as Phillip’s Sanctuary, a mountain resort specially designed by the owners for team building. There are countless activities you can do including biking, fishing, kayaking, and ATV-riding, making it an outdoor adventurer’s paradise! If you’re looking for something less strenuous, you can take a trip to their farm where they raise chickens, sheep, and other animals. Do note that Philip’s Sanctuary’s activities are subject to availability for Balay Natu guests.

Another awfully convenient thing about the villa (if you’re not convinced enough to book a stay yet) is the small restaurants around the farm. If your barkada isn't keen on cooking, you can order large party trays at Noy Pepe’s Cafe or even Korean food at Samgyup sa Farm.
Balay Natu is located in Antipolo, Rizal and costs approximately P13,714 a night. You can book a stay through their Airbnb page here.
