Aptly named after the gelatinous sea creature, Jellytime is the 18-month old brainchild of Ava Daza and her sister Isabelle Daza, along with Sunnies Creative Director Martine Ho. The brand was launched last March 31, with a product that's not what you'd expect.
Described as a sexual wellness brand, Jellytime and its founders envision a changed landscape that provides a safe space for conversations on sex and pleasure in the Philippines. (ICYDK, Ava and Isabelle have already been doing this with their podcast, The Sexytime Podcast.) Inclusivity and a consensual, safe exploration of sexuality is also given a spotlight by the brand, as they believe that “everybody and every body deserves pleasure”.
With Ava and Martine at the helm of the brand's creative direction, it comes as no surprise that their first product, a water-based lubricant, has tastefully-designed packaging. The founders were able to make it as fuss-free as possible, coming in the form of a cream-colored squeeze tube with minimal text. It could easily get lost in the sea of beauty products on your vanity.
Another noteworthy thing about Jellytime is its all-natural, water-based formula that makes it less llikely to cause irriation. Its ingredients include pure water as its base, citric acid to balance the pH, and aloe for a soothing and cooling effect. It's also formulated with sodium hyaluronate which is derived from hyaluronic acid to restore moisture and can even help with inflammation, and lastly, hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium polyacrylate and propylene glycol for the perfectly slippery feel!
