Everything You Need to Know About Art in the Park 2023
Art in the Park is a fundraising event for the benefit of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, which supports the projects of the National Museum of the Philippines.
"Art, in many ways, is an investment. The connection each artwork makes its owner feel is the emotion that connects one stranger to another. BPI supports Art in The Park as it enables Filipinos and art enthusiasts to build connections that make the industry further flourish," said Jenny Lacerna, BPI Product and Sales Head of Unsecured Lending and Cards, in a statement.
Over 60 exhibitors, which include art galleries, art collectives, independent art spaces, and student groups, are participating in this year's Art in the Park.
Special Exhibits at Art in the Park 2023
Like in previous iterations of Art in the Park, there are several artists handpicked for the special shows. Manny Garibay, a Filipino social realist painter, is showcasing his collection of head studies painted on board aluminum.
Bjorn Calleja puts "Dirty Hands," a series of charcoal and graphite portraits, on display.
Kabunyan de Guia pays tribute to his brother, Kidlat de Guia, through an installation titled "Kidlat Ngayon!!!! Isang taon na paglalakbay as soul."
"Beauty in Chaos," a digital painting by Isaiah Cacnio, will also be on display as a projection at the park.
Special Performances at Art in the Park 2023
Soulful Mood is set to fill the park with...well, soulful music. In the evening, Titik Poetry and Pundaquit Virtuosi are coming together for a flash mob poetry performance with music accompaniment.
