Now that we've collated a wealth of useful tips on building our personal art collection from Art Fair Philippines 2020, it's high time we put theory into practice.
What better avenue to do so than in this year's annual Art in the Park. Known as one of the country's most affordable art fairs, the event showcases paintings, scultpures, prints, photographs, and other media from a diverse selection of "galleries, art schools, independent art spaces, and collectives." True to its description, prices for these eclectic pieces range from only P50,000 and below.
Much like the past years, Art in the Park will be held at the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village, Makati on March 15, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
With last year's installation seeing 56 exhibitors, participants are slowly but surely being announced on the event's official Facebook page. As of writing the names have included works from Silverlens, Art Wednesday, MAG, Kasibulan, the Boston Art Gallery, and ART LAB: Atelier Cesare and Jean Marie Syjuco.
While the full list of participants have yet to be announced, art enthusiasts can look forward to Richard Quebral as this year's featured artist. As per Art in the Park's official website, "his work depicts humorous stories about his family, home, neighbourhood, and milieu–narrated in eye catching pastel colors, grids, and textures. The comical, vintage-inspired pieces reflect his hobbies, interests, and beliefs in life. He had his first solo exhibit in 2017, Scene in the Shoreline of Somewhere Beautiful, at Blanc."
Poised as an affordable event, entrance to the fair is completely free!
