Early this morning, an Ariana Grande concert in England ended in tragedy. As concert-goers were leaving the venue, a bomb exploded outside the Manchester Arena, resulting in a number of fatalities and injuries.
Manchester authorities confirmed that the explosion happened 10:35 PM UK time on a Monday (5:35 AM Manila time). Currently, 19 are confirmed dead while more than 50 are injured. According to New York Times, it is suspected that a suicide bomber used a nail bomb to cause the tragedy.
Meanwhile, the Great Manchester Police has released a statement saying that the matter will be treated as a terrorist attack unless otherwise proven.
As for Ariana, the singer's publicist says that she is safe from harm but is "in hysterics" because of the incident. Upcoming shows in the country might also be cancelled. She has tweeted about the tragedy and apologized.
Celebrities have since shared their condolences to those involved, many reaching out to support the singer as well.
