Time for your much-needed R&R, Filipinos! Malacañang has officially declared a five-day long weekend this April.
The Presidential Communications Office detailed the official announcement, reiterating that April 6 (Maundy Thursday) and April 7 (Good Friday) are considered regular holidays in observance of Holy Week.
Following the previous announcement made on November 2022, the commemoration of the Day of Valor (Araw ng Kagitingan) is moved to Monday, April 10, instead of its regular observance on April 9.
The move comes in accordance of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Proclamation No. 90, which adjusts several holidays to be observed on the nearest Mondays to “help encourage domestic travel and increase tourism expenditures in the country.”
