Starting February 17-March 27, the Ayala Museum will be holding an exhibition entitled The World We Live In: Through the Lens of Contemporary Photography featuring the works of iconic photographers Sebastião Salgado, Steve McCurry, Robert Polidori, Edward Burtynsky and Annie Leibovitz.
But what we're most excited about, aside from seeing celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz' work, is the Afghan Girl. Released on the cover of National Geographic in 1985, the iconic photograph has been deemed the First World's Third World Mona Lisa. The Afghan girl quickly became the world's most recognized photograph with her piercing, green-eyed stare juxtaposed against a gritty reality.
