Nothing gets us beaming with pride more than a local designer getting recognized by the global scene. Architect-turned-fashion-designer, Francis Libiran, is the latest to step into the spotlight, joining the ranks of Valentino, Paul and Joe, and Missoni in collaborating with flip-flop brand, Havaianas.
Filipino inspirations were fused with art deco elements to come up with the three beautiful pieces designed by Francis for Havaianas.
With an eye for detail, Francis creates a collection of flip-flops that boasts of our country’s rich cultural heritage, which was launched yesterday at the Ayala Museum. Displayed side by side with a few of his most notable works, he also showcased a few avant-garde creations made of slippers mounted on wire skeletons to complement his limited edition collection.
