How does one earn the title Teen King or Queen?
13 Celebrities and Their Titles How does one earn the title Teen King or Queen?

Here in the Philippines, when fans get a little too obsessed with their idols, they coin terms that eventually stick. Often, the moniker gets so big to the point that the celebrity becomes the label. Say, for example, the Mega Star Sharon Cuneta, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez, and Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, whose prefixes are now part of history.

These days, aside from the artists building a brand for and around themselves depending on what image they deem fit for their personalities, the fans now have more power to christen their fave celebrities, thanks to social media. Their current trend? Anything that has to do with royalty: Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses.

Below, see if you agree with some of the most popular celebrity labels.

Pambansang Love Team - Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza

From a short segment in a noontime show, to becoming a worldwide phenomenon, AlDub has gone over and beyond bounderies, even breaking global social media records. Their faces and their popular "pabebe wave" are now seen all over magazines, the internet, and even EDSA, across all types of brands! Their story appealed to all sectors of society, prompting adoring fans to bestow the title Pambansang Love Team on the two. Alden, with his charming dimples, is also now called the Pambansang Bae.

Teen King and Queen - Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo

KathNiel was formed at the right time when there were no other pairings in Kathryn and Daniel's age group to provide the fans the young love “kilig." They were it. The two had guileless chemistry, enough for fans to believe their reel and real relationship. Question is, what will happen next year when it’s time to bid adolescence adieu?

National Sweetheart - Anne Curtis

The It girl. Well-traveled, gorgeous, stylish, and knows her designers; but what really makes Anne Curtis so likeable? Well, we think this lady is adored for her comical side and her thoroughly unpretentious vibe. A sweetheart—just like how one would describe a good friend.

Queen of All Media - Kris Aquino

Either you love her or hate her; but there will only be one Kris Aquino. Ever. She's brutally honest; and while her being frank has worked in her favor—well, most of the time—it is also because of this that got herself a number of flak. But what makes her a top endorser? Her transparency translates to authenticity.

Philippine’s Pride - Lea Salonga

The only Filipina to be the voice behind, not one but two, Disney princesses, a broadway legend with a Tony Award under her belt—Lea is no doubt a global achiever who has brought so much pride to our country. A well-deserved title, indeed.

Primetime Queen - Marian Rivera

This gorgeous mestiza is the face that launched multiple top-rating TV shows. From playing the role of Marimar way back in 2007 to becoming TV's Dancing Queen, Marian's stellar career continues to shine. We wonder if she'll ever slow down now that she has Baby Letizia.

Pop Princess - Sarah Geronimo

Actually, Sarah is now a certified Pop Star Royalty who has outgrown her princess days a long time ago. But the term Pop Princess somehow stuck more. Either way, Sarah earned her title for being a total performer that can be comparable to the likes of Beyoncé—a rare breed of talented individuals who excel in both singing, dancing and even acting.

Dance Princess - Maja Salvador

When Maja Salvador is on the dance floor, all eyes are on her. She commands attention, which is why the title Dance Princess was given to her. Aside from millions of views of her dance videos on Youtube, she also recently had a successful dance concert.

Ultimate Multi-Media Star - Toni Gonzaga

Toni is a multi-talented artist who excels in whatever field she endeavors in. She’s been the lead host of Pinoy Big Brother for years, she has blockbuster films, TV shows, and even albums to boot. Her title is very fitting as we constantly ask, is there anything she can’t do?

Heir of Rap - Elmo Magalona

Elmo doesn’t only look like his dad, he also takes after Francis M's talent in rapping. The young heartthrob can sing, rap, and act making him a total cutie to watch out for.

Pambansang Kamao - Manny Pacquiao

From fighting for food scraps to fighting for multi-million gold-laden belts, Manny Pacquiao has become an iconic figure not just in the Philippines but also on the world stage. This boxing legend even has Hollywood A-listers like Sylvester Stallone, Mark Wahlberg, Niall Horan, Robert Duvall and more as supporters. That's our national treasure! Go, Pacman!
