This model is also a future doctor.

Kara Gozali is not your typical girl next door. A third year student at the University of Santo Tomas’ Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, this future doctor is armed with both beauty and brains capable of blowing anyone away! You might think she already has her hands full with medical school, but this 24-year-old stunner has also been modeling since she was 18 and is currently signed with Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP).

Apart from being a witty girl on Instagram, below are ten fun facts you need to know about her—as told by Kara herself!

1. “I love what being human is all about. I love understanding how our mind and body work—separately and synergistically. This may explain why I took up BS Psychology as my pre-med and why I'm following through with my Doctor of Medicine studies now.”

2. “My family and I are very tightly-knit. My dad is an onco-surgeon; my mom is a pediatrician; my brothers, Armand and David, are in UP Law and UP Business Administration, respectively; and my sister is taking up BS Life Sciences in Ateneo. And of course, apart from my family, I also have Mark who just graduated from his ophthalmology residency in St. Luke's. They're all very successful in their respective fields and quite frankly, they're the big shots who inspire me to get up every day and not settle for mediocrity.”

3. “My style is very dynamic and I like being different. Its totality can never be boxed into one description. I dress in accordance to my mood but I always keep in mind that how I dress is my form of respect towards the people around me.”

4. “I was in the accelerated Math class back in high school, but I was humbled in college and I learned the hard way (like most of us do). I also learned what study strategy fits me best, and I'm proud of how I'm doing now! I don't believe in giving up on something you love. If there's a will, you'll find a way to make all ends meet.”

5. “I have never been model-sized. During my first go-see, I remember my name being called out on the microphone by one of the directors who said that I would have to bring my waist down two inches smaller in two months. There's always a number of outfits that won't fit me (my hips are huge). To every problem though, there is a solution—I work out when I can and I dress in a way that accentuates my strengths. Also, angle-angle lang ‘yan! Haha!”

6. “I love school supplies and home decor. I'm a frustrated interior designer/architect. I appreciate structure and geometry so much. Whenever I travel, it's mostly the buildings that catch my attention. Scenery is the heart of my travels.”

7. “I love dogs, especially small, fluffy ones! But I can't have any because everyone at home is allergic except for me.”

8. “I've been giving modeling and personality workshops ever since I was 18. I wouldn't ever consider myself an expert but I love to build the confidence of others. I love showing people the good they don't see and helping them find ways to make it their best.”

9. “I used to do tennis and taekwondo. I trained under the Philippine team's coach back in the day. And yes, I did push-ups on concrete with my bare hands.”

10. “I'm a big foodie. If you haven't seen my Instagram and Snapchat stories, you'll be surprised with how much I eat. I love steak, anything potato, dessert—all that jazz! My family is also big on food, so if you have any food-related inquiries, you know who to ask.”
