Sheynnis Palacio is the name you should remember, since the stunner wowed both the judges and the crowd with her elegance, poise, and intelligence. 1. She’s a Gemini.
Sheynnis was born on May 30, 2000 making the 23-year-old model and beauty queen a proud gemini!

2. She studied Mass Communication.
A graduated from the Universidad Centroamericana and actually supported herself during her time at school by working for her mom’s snack business.

3. She’s an audiovisual producer.
Because of her college degree, Sheynnis went into producing television segments in her home country. She’s mostly used to being behind the camera but her passion for mental health and other advocacies inspired her to get into pageantry.

4. She’s a breadwinner.
When an economic crisis hit Nicaragua and their family business struggled to survive, she worked to financially and emotionally support her grandmother and young brother while her mom moved up north of the country to find a better job.

5. She has a mental health initiative called “Understand Your Mind.”
Since the topic of mental health is still new and mostly taboo in her country, the beauty queen made sure to shed light on this issue and has actually interviewed specialists on emotional care for her TV segments. At the same time, she has also produced other projects that tackle this issue in depth.

6. She has openly talked about dealing with anxiety.
Mental health isn’t only an issue Sheynnis wants to advocate for, but is actually something she has struggled with personally. This makes her have first-hand experiences with anxiety that she has spoken about.
7. She formerly represented Nicaragua at Miss World 2021.
Sheynnis was crowned Miss World Nicaragua back in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic all the pageants that year were cancelled. She then represented her country at the 70th Miss World in 2022 that was held in Puerto Rico. She was part of the Top 40.

8. She is the first ever Miss Universe titleholder from Nicaragua.
This fact makes her win even more historic! She is also the only Miss Universe crowned from Central America—another first for her region!
