If you opened your Facebook page today, then chances are you already saw this viral Business Insider video of an edible balloon from Alinea Restaurant in Chicago. The three Michelin star resto has been around for 11 years and is popular for their interesting take on food, science, and art. The plastic balloon-looking dessert is made out of green apple taffy, while the string is actually dehydrated apple.
You can either playfully suck out the helium before devouring the tart taffy, or poke it with the pin. The entire thing is edible. Watch:
The next time you head stateside, visit Chicago and stop by Alinea. We hear Executive Chef Mike Bagale is concocting a new flavor of the hit dessert as we speak.
