Jamsu, which translates to "diving" or "submerging," is a makeup trick sweeping Korea right now. It aims to produce a perfectly matte and melt-proof face amid the hot weather by using just a basin of water and some baby powder. Similar to baking, diving also helps in setting your makeup. But rather than just relying on body heat, it uses water.
Here's how it works: First, cleanse and moisturize your face. Go on your usual routine, piling on primer foundation and concealer. Then, take handfuls of baby powder and pat it on, covering your face with a thin pale layer of powder. After this, you “dive” into a basin of cold water for no more than 30 seconds. Pat your face dry and finish your makeup routine with a perfectly matte canvas, free from oiliness, which will allow smoother product application. As advised, don’t dive for too long if you have dry skin, or better yet, opt for a liberal amount of facial mist to do the trick.
