A non-surgical facelift sounds too good to be true, right? You'd think so, but that's exactly what Sofwave is. "It stimulates your collagen, and that process takes about a month and it continues to improve," California dermatologist and recipient of the Exceptional Women in Medicine award, Dr. Arisa Ortiz said. "It's a way to maintain your youth and any patient is a candidate."
The non-invasive treatment is on the rise, with no signs of stopping—and the results speak for themselves. Here's everything you need to know about Sofwave before you go ahead and try it out for yourself.

What does Sofwave do?
With Sofwave, you can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and after treatment, you can expect your eyebrow to be lifted, face and neck tightened, and more. Read SpectruMed Inc., the official and exclusive Philippine distributor of Sofwave, describe the technology below.
"Sofwave takes skin revitalization and rejuvenation to the next level with its innovative stimulation of the production of new collagen. This innovative solution is called Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology (SUPERB). With this technology, Sofwave helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with treatments that range from 30 to 45 minutes. There is no downtime or long periods of recovery after the treatment. It is safe for all skin types and can be used to lift sagging eyebrows, submental, and neck."
How does Sofwave work?
Sofwave uses SUPERB Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam technology to treat wrinkles and fine lines. Heat is applied in the mid-dermis without harming the surface of your skin, then a cooling mechanism called Sofcool comes after. It's all up to your skin after as the treatment stimulates natural healing responses in a process known as neo-collagenases. The process increases and regenerates collagen.
How do you prepare for a Sofwave treatment?
All you have to do is show up. We're serious.
Does Sofwave hurt?
As they say, beauty is pain. So, yes, depending on your pain threshold, you might feel a "prickly" sensation that quickly passes during the treatment session. Don't worry, though, a topical numbing cream will be applied. Sofwave also has contact cooling that cools the skin while delivering the ultrasound heat.
How much downtime do you need after a Sofwave treatment?
The best part about Sofwave, aside from the results, is the fact that there's no downtime. Which makes it perfect for guys, too. "The thing with men is they don't want their friends to know they're doing anything so they like things with no downtime," Ortiz says. "Sofwave is perfect for men because there's no downtime, no swelling, no redness, no pain."
What does aftercare look like?
Since its a gentle procedure, Sofwave doesn't require any special aftercare. Try to avoid direct sunlight and wear sunscreen. (You're probably already doing both anyway.) Experts also recommend holding off on Retin-A, exfoliating products, and other harsh skincare products immediately after treatment.
How many sessions of Sofwave should you do to see results?
Most of the time, clients require just one treatment. But, this all depends on your skin condition and the physician's recommendation, of course. Once or twice a year is ideal to achieve maximum collagen and skin firming.
Sometimes, Sofwave gives you immediate tightening. Dr. Ortiz says, however, that collagen remodeling takes time. She suggests doing it three months before an event to see results. Or, at least a month because full results come at the six-month mark.
How much does it cost?
At both the Aivee Clinic and Belo Medical Group, prices start at P65,000 per session. That can go up to P120,000 depending on the areas you want targeted: face, neck, or even your body like the top of your hands or above your knees. Are there any side effects?
You might experience slight redness or mild swelling immediately after the session but, in our experience, both usually go away before you even leave the clinic. As we mentioned, there's no downtime so you can easily do it during lunchtime if you're that busy.
