After a long week of writing articles and late nights, I signed myself up for a relaxing appointment at The Spa. Not knowing what to expect, I opted for Pevonia’s Tropical Rejuvenation, a body scrub coupled with a soothing yogurt mask.
The session opened with a full rub down. Normally I’d be averse to strangers touching my skin. But believe me, this is no time to be shy and skimp on certain areas because the end result is so worth it. Using mango-scented sea salt scrub, my therapist buffed and polished all my cares away, sloughing off dead skin cells and rough patches to make way for the indulgent yogurt mask. After rinsing off the sea salt, my therapist proceeded to wrap me in the most heavenly-smelling yogurt mask. Utilizing mango and passion fruit extracts, the wrap aims to brighten, tighten, and revitalize stressed skin. As the mask seeped through my skin, I lay there dozing, wrapped in my little yogurt cocoon (I was even treated to a scalp massage while I was waiting!).
When the time was up, I was ushered into a warm, bubbling bath, where I was left to soak off the remaining bits of the mask. After the treatment I was amazed at how soft and supple my skin felt, almost like a baby’s! Even more surprising was the tropical scent trail I left in my wake as I walked around the room (this scent lasted me all throughout the night). As I walked out into the real world, bleary-eyed and disoriented by the absence of dim lights and soothing sounds, I felt oblivious to my previous stressors. I emerged rejuvenated, renewed, and ready for the next work week. Bring it on, Monday!
