Set Your Hair With Playing Cards This magic styling trick uses the King and (Teen) Queen of Hearts.

Where hair styling is concerned, Preview has a trusted lineup we put on rotation. One of the front liners who did a few of our covers such as Toni Gonzaga’s October 2013, Kim Jones’ March 2014, Liza Soberano’s August 2014, Nadine Lustre’s November 2014, and Andi Eigenmann's Feb 2013, is L’Oreal Professionnel hairstylist, Mark Familara.

Proof of his hair magic

Aside from his skillful hands that impress, Mark also has a signature move with playing cards. Yes, as in the solitaire, poker, and pusoy dos kind. The deck isn't just for playing because according to Mark, pinning a few to rollers or behind each ear (depending on the style) while the product sets, seals the ‘do without leaving a mark. These cards are stiff enough to hold, and flat compared to metal pins that can leave unsightly bumps. Apparently, this is a trick even hairstylists all the way in London, Paris, and New York use for the backstage chaos of styling a dozen girls at Fashion Week.

Below are three ladies who got to experience the Mark Familara magic trick.
