The impression that only freshly-washed hair can be styled well is a myth. Some hairstylists actually prefer working with day two (or three!) hair, since the strands are more cooperative and malleable.
This means that even in a hurry, you can style your unwashed mane to a fancy 'do. You won't need professional help either! Maya Nilsen and Julia Dang of The Lineup shared two styles you can cop in 10 to 15 minutes. Check out the looks below, including a tutorial on how to cop 'em!
1. Top bun with tendrils
Top buns camouflage oily hair and unwanted texture, all while keeping your neck cool. While they can look a bit unpolished, adding a few loose trendils dresses it up a bit.

What You'll Need:
IMAGE Toni & Guy, Goody, Suesh, Rustans, TRESemmé
1. Toni & Guy Dry Shampoo Glamour Volume, P1099, Watsons; 2. Denman Three Row Comb, Rustan's Makati; 3. Goody Ouchless Elastics, SM Department Store; 4. Suesh Curling Iron 32" Diameter, P1300, Glorietta 5; 5. TRESemmé Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray, P689, Watsons
How to Achieve It:
Start by reducing the oils on your scalp with a dry shampoo. Then, brush your hair away from your face or tease your roots if you want more volume. Twist the ends into a top bun and secure it with an elastic. As a finishing touch, pull at least four small strands of hair off the bun and curl them outwards.
2. Textured half-updo
A half-updo can be a great option for shorter hair and slightly formal events. It keeps your hair out of your face and allows you to take advantage of your day two (or three) hair's natural texture.

What You'll Need:
IMAGE Bed Head, Suesh, Goodby, Zalora, Dove
1. Bed Head Oh Bee Hive! Matte Dry Shampoo, P1500; 2. Goody Ouchless Elastics, SM Department Store; 3. Suesh Curling Iron 32" Diameter, P1300, Glorietta 5; 4. Dove Flexible Hold Hairspray, P285, Watsons; 5. Aveda Light Elements Shaping Wax, P1750, Zalora
How to Achieve It:
To prep the hair, shake off excess oil with a dry shampoo. Massage the product into your scalp well, scrunching and teasing a few sections to create texture. After, gather the top section of your hair and braid the ends. Twist the braid into small bun then secure with an elastic. Add a bit more texture by curling the outer sections with a medium-sized curling barrel. Fix the curls with hairspray, and lay down any stray hairs with hair wax.
