As Coco Chanel once said, “A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.”
Now, we’re not exactly sure what big changes the future has in store for socialite and mother becky Divine Lee. But if there’s anything that’s certain, it’s that her cropped new ‘do looks hella fresh! Style Bible stops for a quick chat on what made her decide to go for the chop after 19 years of having long, lush, golden locks.
Below, the three stages every woman goes through when cutting her hair short:
STAGE 1: COMMITMENT
Once you’re certain about your decision, there’s no turning back.
What made you decide to cut your hair?
Honestly? It’s the weather. It's too hot and I realized that I spend so much time drying and fixing my hair daily. I traveled with Charmaine Palermo to London and envied how fast she got ready after taking a shower. So after 19 years, I finally went for the chop!
STAGE 2: HAVING A LITTLE FAITH
Find a partner you can trust. It’ll take you far.
Did you have a peg in mind?
I don't like pegs. I might expect to look like Gisele Bündchen only to be left feeling disappointed after. [Laughs] I just trust Buern Rodriguez to find the best fit for me. Trust your hairdresser. They know better! They know what will work with the texture of your hair.
STAGE 3: ACCEPTANCE
Whether you like it or not, learn to accept what’s given to you.
What were your first thoughts when you first saw yourself in the mirror after?
Bagets! [Laughs]
Do blondes have more fun?
Color me any, I'll always be fun.
