It's no secret that millions fall prey to the big C, but did you know that breast cancer is the most curable form of cancer? Early detection is the key, and you can do a self-exam right in the convenience of your own home. Trouble is, not alot of people know about this and usually wait too late before taking action.
"In Southeast Asia, the Philippines has the highest incidence of breast cancer," says Mark Choon, The Peninsula Manila's General Manager, which is probably why it was a good idea for them to team up with breast cancer awareness advocate, Estee Lauder, which has its very own Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign dedicated to disease research and education.
Together with the money raised from last year's breast cancer campaign, the two companies were able to give the old Breast Care Center at East Avenue Medical Center a facelift! Adding a new wing, an expanded reception area, and twenty brand new chemotherapy chairs to the hospital, those afflicted with the disease now have a safe haven to rehabilitate their bodies to better combat their cancer.
